What Our Holidaymakers Say
Loved the cottage, spotless ,comfortable, Hot Tub an added bonus. Could walk our dogs from the door . Lovely box of Brownies left for us on arrival. Had a lovely relaxing Holiday. Would certainly return .
Gelt Cottage, Castle Carrock

When we arrived, there was a designated parking space and the key was available in a key safe. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and a good size. The location was perfect. Easy to access by road, and two supermarkets only a couple of minutes walk. The town centre 5 minutes walk. I would happily recommend Glenmore Hewetson Court to anyone looking for a Lake District holiday.
Glenmore, Keswick

I really enjoyed my stay, I especially appreciated that their is no multiple days minimum requirement, as it’s not cost prohibitive and achievable for everybody to enjoy a night in a near million pounds property, that to my knowledge is the best scenically located and novel rental in all of Cumbria.
Duke of Portland Boathouse, Ullswater

Checking in at 3pm 1st December to be met with a tastefully decorated Christmas tree in the lounge window, similarly decorated mantelpiece and alcoves immediately set the tone. Whoever was instrumental in this should be applauded! So really from there everything was going to be good and we weren’t disappointed. The cottage is very tastefully appointed, notably window blinds and wall art. The bedding is fantastic, enabling wonderful rest. We expected a little early morning traffic noise due to the super convenient location and main road position but Upvc double glazing and general comfort dealt with this admirably. Private parking in this location is another big plus and 50m to the ‘Golden Rule’ needs a mention. This was our first booking with Cumbrian Cottage Holidays and the whole process was friendly and very professional. Big shout out to Gail and of course the secret Christmas tree fairy! Well done to all concerned.
Kirkstone Cottage, Ambleside

What a beautiful, cosy, peaceful cottage. Chocolate box gorgeous from the rose over the door to the lovely mix of old and new decor. The bottle of wine waiting for us was a thoughtful touch. We just didn’t want to leave and have already booked again.
The Blacksmiths Cottage, Pooley Bridge

We love Grasmere and are so pleased we found this cottage. It’s extremely spacious and central in Grasmere, everywhere is within walking distance and the parking permit means you don’t have to worry about finding somewhere to park. Would definitely stay again.
Bakers Retreat, Grasmere

The accommodation is beautifully presented, finished to a really high standard. A few lovely little quirks in the property give it real character. Very close to the centre of Keswick, this is the ideal location if venturing into town or heading off to the hills. We particularly loved the old railway line from Keswick to Threlkeld, with breathtaking scenery and great for a family cycle without worrying about busy roads, particularly with two children racing off ahead. Overall a lovely few days in the Lakes, with an immaculate base to venture out from.
Anley Cottage, Keswick

We stayed here for 4 nights and received a warm welcome from Gemma. There were 2 bottles of wine and biscuits waiting for us in the cottage which was a nice touch. The cottage was lovely and the grounds were beautiful and great for our 2 wee dogs who loved running about. We used the games room every day. We are thinking of going back next year. The only downside to the cottage was not having a walk in shower for my elderly mum.
Brae Fell Cottage, Sedbergham

This is a beautiful property which had everything we needed for our short break. The huge windows make it feel like living in a tree house. It’s a great place to relax – very comfortable. We found lots to see and do in the local area. It’s well worth a return visit
The Heronry, Netherby

Good accommodation. Clean and comfortable. A little tired in places, some of the decor could do with a refresh. Good equipped kitchen and separate utility room. We had to use the second bedroom as the curtains in the first bedroom let a lot of light in and made it a bit difficult to sleep. Some of the crockery was chipped as well as quite a few glasses. We have emailed as requested regarding this but not sure it was received as we have had no response. Nice, convenient location, good access to Carlisle, Lancaster and even better we were able to take the train as station about 10 minutes walk away. Pleasant patio area for when the weather is clement and we did make use of the surrounding area for some good walks. David the owner was very friendly.
Geltsdale Garden Cottage, Wetheral

My husband and I stayed at Waters Edge, Talkin Tarn 30 May to 6 June and from the moment we entered the cottage we were absolutely delighted with our choice of accommodation and location. The view over the Tarn from the double patio doors is uninterrupted and stunning, and the furnishings throughout the cottage are of high quality. There is lots of crockery and utensils available, plus cleaning products for your use if required. The bed was very comfortable with lovely crisp bedding. Free parking in the nearby carpark is not a problem with lots of security cameras, although I doubt whether these are necessary. There are lovely walks direct from the cottage and we walked around the Tarn at least once every day and enjoyed coffee plus cake at the lovely cafe located half way around. On an evening we were delighted to be visited by two little ducks, who squeezed under the garden gate and looked at us through the patio doors – they love sliced grapes. All in all a 100% excellent rated holiday accommodation and we highly recommend. Thank you to the owners for sharing it with us.
Waters Edge, Talkin Tarn

An absolutely fantastic week staying in a most amazing house. Everything we could have wanted was provided for us. The beds were very comfy, the kitchen cupboards contained plenty of space and crockery. We felt at home as soon as we walked through the front door. We have been holidaying in the Lake District for years and this is the best house we have ever stayed.
