Brampton itself has roots in the medieval period and once served as a market centre for surrounding farms. The area also played a part in the border wars between England and Scotland. A short drive takes you to Lanercost Priory, Gelt Woods, and parts of Hadrian’s Wall, all worth a visit.

Things to Do Around Talkin Tarn and Brampton
