Wetheral Cottages
It is easy to see why Wetheral is a popular village destination for holidaymakers, being only 5 minutes drive from the M6, just off the A69 Carlisle to Newcastle road and with a railway station means getting here couldn’t be easier.
The village has a shop and café, hotel with leisure facilities, bar and restaurant, village pub and Fantails restaurant. Built on the banks of the River Eden, wander over the viaduct to Great Corby and enjoy refreshments in The Queen Inn.
With country walks from the door along the River Eden where caves can be explored and views across to Corby Castle enjoyed there is plenty to see and do on the doorstep. Take the train to Carlisle or a short 15 minute drive to Cumbria’s capital city Carlisle where there is a shopping centre, museum, Castle, Cathedral, cinema and attractions for adults and children alike to enjoy.
Days out in the Lake District are only 30 minutes away.
