AI Image Enhancement Policy

Purpose

At Cumbrian Cottage Holidays, we are committed to presenting properties accurately and professionally. To support this, we may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) image enhancement technology to improve the quality and consistency of property photographs.

The purpose of AI enhancement is to ensure images are clear, attractive, and representative of the guest experience while maintaining an honest and accurate depiction of each property.

How We Use AI

AI technology may be used to:

  • Improve image resolution and sharpness.
  • Correct lighting, brightness, and colour balance.
  • Remove photographic noise or minor image imperfections.
  • Improve sky appearance where weather conditions have affected image quality.
  • Enhance image consistency across a property portfolio.
  • Remove temporary or accidental distractions that do not form part of the property, such as litter, camera reflections, or weather-related artefacts.

What We Will Not Do

We will not use AI to misrepresent a property or create a misleading impression for guests. Specifically, we will not:

  • Add permanent features that do not exist.
  • Alter the size, layout, or dimensions of rooms.
  • Create views, landscapes, or amenities that are not present.
  • Conceal significant defects, maintenance issues, or material aspects of a property.
  • Misrepresent the property’s location, surroundings, or facilities.

Accuracy and Transparency

All enhanced images are reviewed to ensure they remain a fair and accurate representation of the property. AI enhancements are intended to improve visual quality only and not to materially alter the property’s appearance.

Where substantial virtual staging or illustrative imagery is used, we will clearly identify such images where appropriate.

Compliance

Our use of AI-assisted photography complies with applicable advertising standards and consumer protection regulations, including requirements that marketing materials must not be misleading or deceptive.

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure it remains aligned with technological developments, industry best practice, and regulatory requirements.
