  We all know the build up to Christmas is as exciting as the day itself when you have children.  The run up to Christmas can be filled with fun and laughter as you join in with the festive activities on offer throughout Cumbria. Here we have selected 7 of our favorite places to visit with the kids at Christmas in the Lake District Walby Farm Park, Crosby on Eden This fun filled day includes meeting Santa, making your own teddy to take home, decorate gingerbread biscuits, wander though the enchanted forest with 3D glasses, make reindeer food to ensure Rudolph stops at your house on Christmas Eve.  If you still have time in your day you can meet all the animals and enjoy whizzing down the slides or zip wire, take barrel rides and race round the go kart arena. The Rheged Centre, Penrith Packed with pantomime fun and laughter the Rheged Centre is putting on Beauty and the Beast on the 28 & 29 December.  Watch Belle fall in love with the Beast in this family friendly performance. Brewery Arts Centre, KendalHonister Christmas The classic tale of The Gingerbread Man is brought to lift through puppetry, live action, music and humour this festive season, suitable for children aged 3 and up. Hayes Garden World, Ambleside Travel through the wardrobe to an icy Narnia wonderland in search of Father Christmas, each child receives a gift. Honister Slate Mine, Honister Deep in the mountain search for the glowing cavern where Santa waits to greet the children, watch out for the Elves along the way.
