Carlisle Cottages & Hadrian’s Wall

Hadrian’s Wall stretches from Bowness-on-Solway on the Solway Coast in the top western corner of Cumbria to Wallsend in the north east.  Popular with walkers, treading in steps from by a bygone era on a path well worn by the Romans, Hadrian’s Wall is a challenging walk cross country with many Roman forts and museums filled with Roman artifacts to explore on route.

Carlisle is the capital city of Cumbria with Lake Ullswater a half hours drive away.  The city is a historians delight with Carlisle Castle and Cathedral to explore, within a short drive there is also Hadrian’s Wall and Lanercost Priory. The Lanes Shopping Centre has all your favourite high street shops and there are numerous bars, restaurants and coffee shops for when you are in need of refreshments.

With a cinema, trampoline park, Lazerquest, soft play centres, parks and river walks to enjoy the whole family will be entertained.

Carlisle is an ideal base from which to explore the Scottish Borders (Gretna is only 9 miles away), the Lake District is within half an hours drive, the Solway Coast and Newcastle are an hours drive.
