Geltsdale Garden Apartment Wetheral, part of the former gentleman’s residence was built in 1904 for the Mayor of Carlisle and is now a family home with 2 self contained apartments. Geltsdale Garden Apartment has its own private entrance and is all ground floor, perfect for those who struggle with stairs. There are open views to the rear of the cottage across the fields where grazing deer are a regular sight to the River Eden and fells beyond. Fantails Restaurant, the Crown Hotel and Wheatsheaf Inn are within a short walk for the days you don’t want to cook or to simply enjoy a relaxing evening out or take the train to Carlisle or Newcastle for the nightlife and variety of restaurants.

Geltsdale Garden Apartment has its own courtyard entrance to the front of the property, is centrally heated throughout and comprises: Dining/lounge with plasma TV and views over the garden to the distract Geltsdale Fells. Kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and microwave. Double bedroom with en-suite shower room with hand basin and WC. Twin bedroom with zip link beds which can convert into a king size bed on request and en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.

All gas, electric, bed linen and towels provided. Cot and highchair available. Private parking for 2 cars and EV charger available. Wi-Fi available. Courtyard with seating and lawned area to the side of the property with views to the distant fells.

Wetheral is the perfect base from which to explore Cumbria and the Lake District, being just off the A6 and minutes away from the M6 makes getting around easy. Located 6 miles east of Carlisle for shops, restaurants, bars and attractions or take the motorway south and within half an hour you can be enjoying the lake or mountains at Ullswater. The village itself has a village green with May Pole surrounded by a village shop, restaurant, hotel with leisure facilities and church, there is also a traditional inn, bowling green and cricket field within the village. Located on the banks of the River Eden, leisurely walks can be enjoyed along the river with views of Corby Castle to the caves or take the 19th century viaduct that spans the river to Great Corby with village pub.
