The Cumbrian coast is a picturesque gem running along the Irish Sea towards Morecambe Bay, a beautiful place to stay in Solway Coast cottages. The beaches are renowned for their unspoiled natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere, making them a popular destination for both locals and tourists seeking a peaceful escape.

Away from the madding crowds of the Lake District tourist hotspots, the South Lakes and Coast offers the best of both worlds, a peaceful, relaxing break, amidst stunning countryside and yet only a short drive to the fells and lakes of the Lake District.  You can explore all your favourite towns, villages and lakes such as Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere, the Langdales, Coniston Water and Lake Windermere and within less than an hours drive you can be watching the sun set over the Irish sea, the breathtaking spectacle often turns the sky into a palette of vibrant colors as the sun dips below the horizon, the perfect backdrop to a romantic moment or quiet reflection.

There are a number of nature reserves in the area with a diverse mix of wildlife, and birdwatchers will find plenty to observe.  Seals and dolphins can occasionally be spotted in the sea, adding to the area’s natural appeal.

The coast is on the British coastal path popular with visitors to the area, stop off at one of the many village pubs throughout the area, many serving local craft ales and delicious home cooked meals to experience a warm Cumbrian welcome.
