Hadrians Wall Cottage Greenhead is, as the name suggests, located on the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hadrian’s Wall. Situated in the hamlet of Long Byre the cottage is full of character with beams decorating the ceilings and walls and an Inglenook fireplace housing a cosy wood burning stove. Furnished and equipped as a home away from home guests can enjoy lazy days in the garden or get out and about in the countryside and explore the local area steeped in history and rolling fells. There is a pub and tea room both less than a mile away for days you prefer not to cook at home. The cottage is located next door to Long Byre Cottage sleeping 4 and parking is in the shared courtyard. Rent both cottages to sleep up to 12 people.

The gas centrally heated cottage is entered by the gated garden where you are immediately transfixed with the splendour of the stone built cottage, the entrance porch has an arched door beckoning you to explore the charm of the cottage. The characterful, spacious lounge has comfy leather sofas and armchairs nestled around the Inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove and TV. The character continues into the dining room, reached by 3 steps from the lounge, linger at the dining table as you reminisce on your days adventures and marvel at how the Romans built such a monument in a time long since passed. The spacious kitchen has everything needed to rustle up a family favourite meal with a gas range, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and small dining table, there is a further fridge/freezer and washing machine in the utility room. Also on the ground floor is a family bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.

The first floor continues to delight with 4 bedrooms all furnished in their own style. The master bedroom has a super king size bed (can convert to twin beds on request). There are 2 further bedrooms each with a double bed. The fourth bedroom has bunk beds. Family bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.

All gas, electric, bed linen, towels and initial supply of logs provided. Private parking for 2 cars in a shared courtyard. 2 small dogs welcome. Sunny garden with seating and summer house.
