Geltsdale East Wing Wetheral was a gentleman’s residence built in 1904 for the Mayor of Carlisle and is now home to the owners with 2 self contained apartments. Geltsdale East Wing is a modern, spacious first and second floor apartment with views over the fields where deer can regularly be seen grazing to the River Eden beyond. A short walk takes you to the village centre where you can dine at Fantails Restaurant or enjoy a drink either in the Wheatsheaf Inn or the Crown Hotel. The village is on the Carlisle to Newcastle railway line, take the train and enjoy a day exploring either cities.
The apartment is centrally heated throughout and comprises. Private entrance with staircase leading to the first floor. Modern lounge with open rural aspect with comfy sofas situated around the modern electric fire with TV above. Spacious dining/kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and dining table perfect for gathering and planning the day ahead or enjoying a delicious home cooked meal. Utility room with washer/dryer and freezer. Master double bedroom with en-suite shower room, hand basin and WC. Cloakroom with hand basin and WC.

The village of Wetheral sits 6 miles east of the county capital of Carlisle with shops, bars, restaurants and attractions to entertain the young or the young at heart. The village itself has a hotel with leisure facilities, a restaurant and shop situated on the village green and a traditional pub, church, bowling green and cricket field also within the village. Wetheral lies on the banks of the River Eden and the 19th century viaduct spans the river to Great Corby on the banks opposite. Leisurely walks along the River Eden lead to the caves and views over the river to Corby Castle. Ideally based for exploring Cumbria, the M6 is a 5 minute drive away, Ullswater can be reached in less than half an hour and the popular Lakeland town of Keswick is less than an hours drive. A day at the beach on the Solway Coast is within a short drive, the Scottish Borders and Gretna, famous for eloping couples, and Gretna Gateway (outlet shopping centre) is within a 20 minute drive and Newcastle and the Metro Centre are both easily accessible along the A69 and within an hours drive.
