Follow the path towards Waters Edge Talkin Tarn and make your way to the picture window doors where the tarn is perfectly reflected. Being open plan lounge and kitchen the views are uninterrupted whether you are cuddling in front of the TV and wood burning stove or cooking a delicious meal for 2 in the well equipped kitchen. Relax on the private patio with fire pit while enjoying a glass of bubbly, while you watch the world go by. Waters Edge is a truly magical place for a romantic get away or to celebrate a special occasion at any time of year.
The cottage is accessed from its own pathway into the lounge and has LPG under floor heating, wood burning stove and comprises: Open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with Smart TV, wood burning stove and full width sliding patio doors offering uninterrupted tarn views from the comfy sofa. The kitchen has everything needed to cook a sumptuous meal including an electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher, wine cooler, washer/dryer and microwave. Master bedroom with double bed. There is also a luxury shower room with copper bath, sip on your champagne whilst relaxing and forgetting all of your troubles, shower cubicle, hand basin and WC.
All LPG, electric, logs, bed linen, towels and dressing gowns included. Private parking in the onsite car park opposite the cottage entrance. Private garden and patio area with uninterrupted views to Talkin Tarn with seating around the fire pit (logs provided). There is a private bike store, the quieter country lanes are waiting to be explored.
Nestled in an area of natural beauty, with uninterrupted views over the tarn, Waters Edge sits in the grounds of the former Tarn End Hotel which has been converted to provide luxurious accommodation in a tranquil setting.
Talkin Tarn nestles 9 miles East of Carlisle and 2 miles south of Brampton where there are shops, bars and restaurants. The footpath from your door leads to the village of Talkin, relax with a local ale and meal in the village inn. Wander down to The Boathouse Cafe and Gift Shop, enjoy a coffee and lunch al fresco overlooking the tarn or hire a rowing boat or canoe, try your hand at sailing, windsurfing and paddle boarding or bring a bike and explore further afield. If you prefer a more laid back activity a stroll around the 1.3 mile tarn takes you through the mature woodland, you can fish to your hearts content (subject to licence) from the shores of the tarn or enjoy a round of golf, the course literally overlooks the cottages. Further afield there are numerous historical sites within a short drive including Lanercost Priory and Tea Rooms, Hadrian’s Wall and Carlisle Castle. Situated a short drive from the A69 both Carlisle and Newcastle are easily accessible and the shores of Lake Ullswater are just over an hours drive away.
