Overview

The first floor, centrally located, apartment, Bakers Retreat Grasmere, was once home to the village baker who worked in the bakery shop below, both are now cosy homes away from home. The open plan living area offers spacious, comfy accommodation for a family or 2 couples, relax in front of the TV in the lounge whilst gazing out of the picture window to the views of Helm Crag. Prepare a mouth watering meal in the well equipped kitchen before gathering around the dining table to enjoy the feast and linger over a glass of wine whilst you plan tomorrows adventures.

The accommodation is gas centrally heated and comprises: Spacious living area with comfy leather sofas positioned around the TV and electric stove effect fire with views through the picture windows to Helm Crag. The modern well equipped kitchen has everything needed to prepare a delicious meal including an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and microwave, there is also an island breakfast table. The dining table is positioned in front of the window to enjoy views of Helm Crag whilst the family gathers to enjoy dinner, play games or linger over coffee and plan their days adventure. The double and twin bedroom each has en-suite shower rooms with hand basin and WC.

All gas, electric, ben linen and towels provided. There is Wi-Fi throughout the cottage. A parking permit for a nearby car park is provided.

There is a £100 breakage deposit payable prior to arrival.

PLEASE NOTE: Bakers Rest sleeps 8, out of season it is rented as a 2 bedroom cottage under the name of Bakers Retreat, guests booking Bakers Retreat will only have access to the first floor accommodation, the second floor bedrooms will be locked.

Grasmere, is nestled within the heart of the Lake District in an area where time seems to slow down and the beauty of nature unravels in front of you. The emerald hues of the surrounding fells create a striking contrast against the backdrop of the sky, while the gentle ripples of Grasmere Lake mirror the changing moods of the heavens above. As you wander through the village's quaint streets, lined with charming cottages and vibrant gardens, you'll find yourself captivated by its rustic charm and timeless grace. The air in Grasmere carries an ethereal scent, infused with the fragrance of wildflowers and the sweet essence of freshly baked delicacies wafting from cosy tearooms.
Grasmere is also a portal into the world of poetry and literature. Follow in the footsteps of the great poet William Wordsworth as you visit the revered Dove Cottage, his former home, untouched by time and a must see whilst in Grasmere.

A world of adventure awaits visitors to the area, hike along ancient trails that wind through lush valleys and scale the heights of the majestic peaks, the views from atop are breathtaking or try one of the many watersports available on the glistening lake. As twilight descends, the vibrant restaurants and bars beckon with their menus of locally sourced produce and cocktails.
