In a previous life, Bakers Rest Grasmere, was the home to the village bakers who owned and worked in the bakery below. Now the first and second floor accommodation is a spacious home away from home for up to 8 people. The open plan living area is the social hub, where guests can gather and enjoy a home cooked meal prepared in the well equipped kitchen, linger over a morning cuppa at the dining table whilst taking in the view of Helm Crag and planning your day ahead or relax in front of the TV in the plump sofas. Each of the 4 bedrooms has an en-suite, there’s no waiting around for the bathroom to come free when getting ready to start your days adventure or heading out on an evening to one of the many pubs and restaurants on your doorstep. Bakers Rest is the perfect choice for 2 families or a group of friends looking for a well equipped, centrally based, holiday in the heart of the Lake District.

The cottage has gas central heating and comprises: First floor, open plan, spacious lounge/kitchen/diner comfy leather sofas are arranged around the TV and electric stove effect fire, the large picture windows enjoy views to Helm Crag. The modern, fully equipped, kitchen has everything needed to prepare a sumptuous meal with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and has an island breakfast table. The dining table is positioned in front of the window to enjoy views to Helm Crag whilst enjoying everyones company and the feast in front of you. This floor also has a double and twin bedroom both with en-suite shower rooms with hand basin and WC.

The second floor has a further double bedroom with en-suite shower room with hand basin and WC and the twin bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.

All gas, electric, bed linen and towels are provided along with 2 parking permits for a nearby car park. A cot and highchair are available. There is Wi-Fi throughout the cottage. A £200 breakage deposit is payable.

Once the home of the renowned poet William Wordsworth. Fans of literature will appreciate visiting Dove Cottage, where Wordsworth lived and wrote some of his most famous works. Grasmere is also known for its arts and crafts scene, the village is dotted with delightful art galleries, boutique shops, and craft centers.

Grasmere is an excellent base for outdoor activities. From gentle strolls to challenging hikes, the surrounding countryside offers trails suitable for all levels of hikers. Whether you choose to explore the hills around Grasmere or venture into the nearby fells, the scenic landscapes are sure to leave you awe-inspired. Due to its central location within the National Park, exploring other popular towns and villages with their array of shops, art galleries, attractions and lakes is also easily accessible with both Keswick to the north, Windermere to the south and the Langdale peaks to the west all less than a 30 minute drive.
