Located in the ‘Gateway to the Lakes’, Woodman’s Cottage, Penrith offers accommodation only moments away from the bustling town centre. Shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants and take aways are all on the doorstep, so whether you are looking for a meal for the family or live entertainment, your home away from home is within walking distance of all the action. The cottage is spacious, warm and welcoming and has the benefit of a shared courtyard with seating for al fresco dining or relaxing on sunny days. Tucked away at the end of an alley, the cottage is in a tranquil setting, yet moments away from the town centre and opposite the bus station for ease of transport options around Cumbria and beyond.
The cottage has been beautifully furnished to provide a homely atmosphere and caters for all of your holiday needs. The cosy dining/lounge has 2 comfy sofas positioned around the Smart TV, catch up on the soaps or login to your Netflix account and settle down to the latest film release. Home cooked meals can be enjoyed at the dining table or leisurely breakfasts whilst planning the adventures of the day. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed to prepare a feast with electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher.
As evening descends and bed beckons, there are 2 bedrooms on the first floor, each has a king size bed, one of which can be made into twin beds on request. The family bathroom has a rainfall shower over bath, hand basin and WC.
All electric, bed linen and towels are provided. Cot and highchair available. Two well behaved dogs welcome. Please note there is no private parking with this cottage and during the day the town operates a disc parking scheme and there is a car park opposite if preferred. There is a shared courtyard with The Loft (next door) with table and chairs for al fresco dining or lazy days.
Penrith lies in the scenic Eden Valley, where gentle countryside walks and cycling routes are complemented by welcoming village pubs serving local ales and delicious meals. The vibrant market town of Keswick is just a 30-minute drive along the A66, while the sparkling waters of Lake Ullswater are only 15 minutes away. From there, a drive over the spectacular Kirkstone Pass will lead you to Ambleside or Windermere. The historic border city of Carlisle, with its castle, cathedral, and shops, is also just half an hour away. With its prime location and easy access to the M6 and A66, Penrith is the perfect base for discovering all the beauty and attractions Cumbria has to offer.
