If your perfect family holiday means peaceful countryside, space to slow down and beautiful views, but with plenty of attractions and days out within easy reach, Willow Bank, Low Row offers the best of both worlds. Surrounded by open Cumbrian countryside, this welcoming bungalow is a relaxing retreat away from the crowds and a wonderfully central base for exploring Hadrian’s Wall, the Lake District, Scottish Borders, Northumberland and the Solway Coast.
Wake to far-reaching countryside views, enjoy breakfast together before deciding where the day will take you, then return after your adventures to the peace and quiet of Low Row. With accommodation all on one level, Willow Bank is also a great choice for families holidaying with grandparents or guests who prefer to avoid stairs.
The area is perfect for walkers with Hadrian's Wall, the Pennines and Lake District fells all easily reached and the quiet country roads are perfect for cyclists. Within a short drive fishermen have a choice of the River Irthing, River Eden, New Mills Fishing Farm and Talkin Tarn, a natural beauty spot that also provides watersport activities including paddle boarding, canoeing, hiring a rowing boat or simply enjoying woodland walks where you can enjoy a cuppa at the cafe and gift shop.
At the heart of the bungalow is the spacious dining lounge, where comfortable seating surrounds the wood-burning stove and Smart TV. It’s the perfect place to bring everyone together after a busy day – light the fire on cooler evenings, choose a favourite film and relax with plans for tomorrow’s adventures. The well-equipped dining kitchen has everything needed for easy family meals, including an electric double oven and hob and microwave. Gather around the dining table beside the patio doors and enjoy dinner accompanied by wonderful views across the surrounding countryside. A separate utility room houses the fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, providing all the practicalities needed for a comfortable family stay.
When evening arrives, choose from three peaceful bedrooms, two with double beds and one with a single bed. The four-piece bathroom has a shower cubicle, bidet and hand basin.
Outside, the garden wraps around the bungalow, with seating positioned to make the most of those beautiful uninterrupted countryside views. Spend lazy afternoons outdoors while the children play, enjoy family meals in the fresh country air or, once the day’s adventures are over, sit back with a glass of wine and watch the Cumbrian countryside turn golden as the sun sets.
All oil, electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. Private parking for 3 cars. The garden surrounds the bungalow with outdoor seating and a table and chairs positioned to make the most of the stunning countryside views.
Despite Low Rows wonderfully peaceful setting, you won’t have to travel far to find things to see and do.
