A cosy wood burning stove to keep you warm in chillier months and a sunny garden with BBQ, ideal for enjoying a glass of your favorite tipple whilst watching the sun set. Fell End is in a peaceful location with walking from the door over the Howgill Fells and easy access to 2 beautiful national parks; the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. Set at the foot of Harter Fell the cottage is located next door to the owners’ home, who are on hand to give you a warm welcome and advise you on all the hidden gems waiting to be explored nearby. The village of Ravenstonedale, 3 miles, and market towns of Sedbergh and Kirkby Stephen – the nearest at 7 miles, offer shops, bars and restaurants surrounded by beautiful scenery.
As you enter Sandbed Cottage the open plan living area welcomes you in under a canopy of beams with a flagged stone floor. Relax in the living room with comfy seating around the wood burning stove and smart TV with DVD player, enjoy a film from one of the discs provided or settle down with a good book. The dining kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven and ceramic hob, fridge, freezer and microwave. After rustling up a feast, enjoy family time at the dining table where you can plan tomorrow’s adventure or recap on todays.
As evening descends head to one of the 2 comfy bedrooms each promising a restful night’s sleep. The master bedroom has a king size bed and the 2nd room is furnished with twin beds. The family shower room has a walk in shower cubicle and hand basin.
All oil heating, electric, bed linen and towels are provided. Ample Private parking. Two well behaved dogs are welcome. Cot and high chair available on request. Patio with seating and garden mostly laid to lawn circumscribing the cottage.
Fell End is a small, peaceful hamlet ideally positioned close to the villages of Ravenstonedale and the market towns of Kirkby Stephen and Sedbergh, all well worth a visit. Each offers a good selection of independent shops, welcoming cafés, traditional pubs and family-friendly restaurants. Sitting at the foot of the Howgill Fells, the area is perfect for outdoor lovers, with a variety of walks straight from the doorstep, including routes to Harter Fell and Wild Boar Fell. For something truly memorable, head to Cautley Spout to admire England’s highest waterfall as it cascades down the hillside.
History enthusiasts will enjoy exploring the atmospheric ruins of Pendragon Castle, while a journey on the famous Settle–Carlisle railway offers a fantastic day out, travelling through some of the most spectacular scenery in Britain. There is no shortage of activities nearby, with opportunities for golf, horse riding and fishing, and the Lake District within easy reach for family adventures on the water, including a wide range of watersports.
