Perfect for a relaxing break away at any time of year, Puddleduck Hut Armathwaite is a bespoke, craftsman built Shepherds Hut, it is the perfect example of how to do it right. Offering a high degree of insulation means it is an all year round base to relax, unwind and rejuvenate. Not only is the hut spacious inside, it is situated in an elevated garden, surrounded by rolling countryside with enviable views across to the Northern fells. The screened patio area has a wood fired hot tub, after a day exploring the undulating countryside, unwind in the hot tub whilst star gazing, the perfect end to the perfect day. With everything needed to provide a homely stay, Puddleduck Hut has a kitchenette, comfy seating, TV and en-suite shower room. Being located just over a mile from the pretty village of Armathwaite, you would be forgiven for thinking you were the only people in the world, yet a 5 minute drive takes you to the village with shop and pub serving home cooked meals.
Puddleduck Hut Armathwaite is accessed from its own decked area via double doors to make the best of the views across the Eden Valley. Kept warm and cosy with electric wall heating and an additional oil radiator if required, the open plan living space has everything needed for a relaxing break. In the centre of the hut 2 comfy chairs are situated in front of the door to admire the view, get comfy and enjoy the latest films on the smart TV. The kitchenette has a Belfast pot sink, mini fridge, microwave and gas hob, breakfast, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at the folding table. As evening descends freshen up in the shower room before climbing into the comfy king size bed (can convert to twin beds on request at time of booking).
Sunny days can be enjoyed on the elevated decking, the views are spectacular, or in the garden with seats positioned to admire the distant fells. Your own private wood fired hot tub is perfect for unwinding any time of day, but there is something magical about watching the twinkling stars as the warming bubbles help alleviate the stresses of day to day living.
All gas, electric, logs, bed linen and towels provided. Private parking for 1 car. Decking and patio area with wood fired hot tub. Dogs have access to a paddock for exercise and a dog agility course is available in an adjacent paddock, there is a charge of £25 per dog, payable to the owner on arrival. Access to the hut is along a road adjacent to a pet bereavement facility, there is a pedestrian path shielded from the building.
The Eden Valley, known for its miles of lush green fields and quaint villages, has quiet country roads, perfect for walkers and cyclists who struggle with the hills of the Lake District. Armathwaite is situated in the beautiful Eden Valley on the banks of the River Eden, leisurely river walks can be enjoyed along with salmon fishing, can you find the 5 face carvings in the rocks on your adventures. Located on the Carlisle to Settle railway line, enjoy a day of sightseeing in the county’s capital Carlisle with castle, cathedral, parks and shopping centre or head towards Settle for a day out in North Yorkshire and the Peak District. Armathwaite is perfect for exploring Cumbria with the Eden Valley on your doorstep and Hadrian’s Wall, the Lake District and Solway Coast all less than an hours drive. Those looking for an active break away can enjoy golf, horse riding, fishing, water sports, mountain biking, rock climbing, the list is endless within a short drive.
