Perched on Swinside Fell, Lorton View takes its name from the stunning scenery that greets you at every turn and from the windows, doorway and patio. Tucked into the hillside at the rear, with wide open views across the fells from the front, it’s the perfect base for walkers and nature lovers, with trails leading straight from your door and being on the Coast2Coast cycle route exploring the peaceful western fells could not be easier. From here you can soak up sweeping views across the Lake District, the Solway Coast, and even into Scotland.

Just a short drive away, you will find the bustling market towns of Cockermouth and Keswick, brimming with independent shops, cosy pubs, inviting restaurants, and plenty of attractions to explore. Yet, after a day out, you will love retreating to the total tranquillity of Lorton View.

This charming room with separate kitchenette and beautiful en suite, lies just a mile from the village of Lorton, along a winding country lane, in a self contained room in the owners’ home. With its stunning views, private patio area, BBQ, and outdoor seating, it’s made for relaxed evenings dining alfresco and watching the sun dip behind the fells with a glass of wine in hand.

Step inside into the small kitchenette area adjacent to the bedroom, before stepping into a bright, open-plan space combining lounge and bedroom. Stay cosy with electric heating throughout, curl up in the comfy armchairs, or sink into the luxurious super king-size oak sleigh bed for a restful night. In the mornings, linger a little longer with a coffee and that view, or watch your favourite show on the Smart TV before heading out on your next adventure.

The small kitchen comes equipped with fridge with freezer compartment, toaster, microwave and single ring plug in induction hob, (guests can use the big kitchen and oven in the main house by arrangement) perfect for rustling up simple meals to enjoy at the dining table. . A modern shower room ensures you can refresh after a day on the fells.

All bed linen, towels, electricity, and private parking for one car are included. Outside, enjoy your own slice of the Lake District with a patio, garden furniture, BBQ, fire pit, and those unforgettable views.
