Holidaymakers always receive a warm and friendly welcome to the traditional wood paneled inn which time forgot, Emily’s Black Lion Inn, renowned for its food and local ales. Being on the first and second floor, Emily’s Apartment is a combination of Emily’s View and Emily’s Nook rented out for larger groups wanting to stay together accessed by the same landing. The 2 apartments offer comfortable accommodation in the heart of the village of Ireby with views over the roof tops to the Caldbeck fells beyond. It is an ideal base from which to explore the Northern Lake District and within a short drive of Lake Bassenthwaite and Keswick is less than a half hours drive.
The apartment has oil central heating with electric radiators in the bedrooms. The living area is bright and airy with views over the rooftops to the fells beyond, comfy seating is nestled around the TV with Freeview. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed to rustle up a 3 course meal including electric cooker, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. Linger over morning coffee whilst planning your day ahead in the separate dining room. Freshen up in the bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.
The second floor is also home to a second sitting room with TV and sofa bed for occasional use. Access to 2 double bedrooms is off the sitting room.

Freshen up in the shower room with hand basin and WC and when its time to retire for the day the comfy king size bed awaits.

Ireby nestles in the Caldbeck Fells is a picturesque corner of the Lake District with mountains and lakes on your doorstep, yet far enough away from the tourist hotspots to ensure a peaceful and relaxing break away. The Caldbeck Fells provide excellent opportunities for walking and hiking with various trails suitable for all levels of fitness including Skiddaw and Blencathra. The vistas from the fell tops are breathtaking on a clear day you can see over the Solway Coast to Scotland beyond and to the south Bassenthwaite Lake with Derwentwater beyond glistens in the sunshine beckoning you to explore. There are a number of friendly villages including Caldbeck itself, with stream feeding the duck pond, a number of cafes serving freshly baked treats and village inn serving local ales and mouthwatering food. Perfectly based to explore the northern Lake District, a short 15 minute drive or a walk over the ‘Back o Skiddaw’ takes you to the market town of Keswick with shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs, if the walk back is to much there are excellent public transport links ensuring a safe return.
