Claybottom Farm Caldbeck is a charming 17th-century longhouse cottage, perfect for a family getaway in a peaceful and scenic setting. Nestled on the slopes of the Caldbeck Fells between the picturesque villages of Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket, the cottage enjoys a wonderfully tranquil location at the end of a three-quarter mile single lane country road. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, guests can enjoy fell walks straight from the doorstep and spectacular views from the fell tops across the Solway Firth to Scotland in the west and Bassenthwaite Lake to the south west.
Full of original character and rustic charm, the cottage offers spacious and welcoming accommodation with lovely views across the cottage garden to High Pike and the surrounding fells. The area is rich in wildlife and ideal for walkers, cyclists and those simply looking to unwind in peaceful surroundings.
The bright breakfast room is the perfect place to start the day, with large windows framing the stunning fell views. The well-equipped farmhouse kitchen includes a traditional Rayburn, electric hob on the central island, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and American-style fridge/freezer, making it ideal for family meals and entertaining. The light-filled garden room offers comfy seating, a TV and piano, while the cosy snug with flagged stone floor and wood-burning stove is perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the fells. The ground floor cloakroom adds convenience.
Upstairs, sandstone steps lead to a charming beamed master bedroom with super king size bed (can convert to twin beds on request) and ensuite bathroom featuring a walk-in shower and vanity unit. Adjoining this room is a nursery with cot for little ones. There are 2 further bedrooms, one with a king size bed and another with twin beds, all promising a good nights sleep, along with an additional shower room with basin.
All oil, electric, bed linen and towels provided. Cot available. Ample private parking. Cottage garden with access to the fells.
