Set in 10 acres of beautiful landscape, here you can meet the resident hens, ducks, pet pigs, goats and sheep, and the owners are also on hand to ensure you get the most out of your holiday, providing information and recommendations on where to explore, where to visit, and where to eat and drink. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay truly memorable with a play area for the kids and a safe and secure space for exercise and play with your four-legged friends. They haven’t stopped at just making your dogs welcome either, with 5 stables and paddocks you can bring your own horse and explore the area on horseback.

You are welcome to roam and explore the 10-acre farmstead where you will discover a grand in-ground fire pit, and what could be better than chatting to fellow holidaymakers whilst roasting marshmallows or enjoying an evening glass of your preferred drink? How about making use of the outdoor pizza oven available for use during your stay? Here you might make your own from scratch or pop in a shop bought one to just give it a little authentic flavouring and create a more enjoyable experience.

Special occasions are catered for too, and if you are looking for a base from which to have your own celebrations be it a birthday, wedding, or family get-together, then The Long Barn offers a characterful covered venue for guests that can be extended outside with a marquee to allow up to 100 guests to join the celebrations. When not used for celebrations, The Long Barn is available for guests as a games room with darts board, table tennis, board games and puzzles, as well as a children’s snooker table.

South Lakes Farm Holidays has also partnered with a neighbouring holiday park where guests receive use of their leisure facilities including a gym and indoor swimming pool, and enjoy their café, restaurant, and other facilities as you please.

The Old Farmhouse is just that, the original farmhouse and retains its character and many original features. The cottage offers guests great flexibility with 2 bedrooms that can be set up as super-king size or as twin beds, and outdoor seating at the front and back of the property.

The characterful lounge has beams with comfy seating around the open fireplace and Smart TV with Netflix included, perfect for some entertainment for children and grown ups alike. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a delicious home cooked meal to be enjoyed at the dining table with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, air fryer, and dishwasher. There is a handy ground floor cloakroom with hand basin and WC.

As evening descends climb the stairs to the first-floor bedrooms where a restful sleep awaits. There are 2 large bedrooms each with super-king size beds that can convert to twin beds if required – please request at the time of booking and a twin bedroom. The spacious family bathroom has a bath, separate shower cubicle and hand basin.

All electric, central heating, bed linen and towels provided. Cot and highchair available on request. Private parking for 2 cars. Dedicated visitor parking. Up to three dogs welcome. To the rear of The Old Farmhouse is an enclosed patio with table and chairs and at the front is further seating and garden area that catches the afternoon and full evening sun along with spectacular views to the Lake District. The front of the property also faces The Orchard with its children’s play area and enclosed exercise and play area for dogs. A charcoal BBQ and firepit are provided, plus shared use of the full site to walk, discover, and enjoy.
