Threkeld Cottage is a compact, traditional, cosy cottage perfect for those who enjoy getting out and about and exploring the surrounding area. The cottage provides an affordable base for guests looking to explore the northern Lake District within a short drive of Keswick, or walk the old railway line, now a popular walk with tourists following the old railway track to the shops, bars and restaurants of the popular market town. Threlkeld Cottage boasts open views to Clough Head and St Johns in the Vale.
The cottage is heated by electric panel heaters and comprises: Lounge with sofa and chair nestled around the electric fire and TV. The dining/kitchen with electric cooker, fridge and microwave, linger over breakfast at the dining table and plan your days adventure ahead.
The first floor has a double bedroom with double and single bed, perfect for 2 friends wanting to holiday together but want their own beds or a small family with views to St Johns in the Vale. Family shower room with shower, hand basin and WC.
All electric and bed linen provided. Private parking for 1 car. Patio area to the front of the cottage with a garden bench and views across the countryside to St Johns in the Vale. Garage with freezer. PLEASE NOTE towels are not provided and there is no Wi-Fi.
Nestled at the foot of Blencathra, Threlkeld is a traditional Lakeland village conveniently located just off the A66. Exploring the northern Lake District could not be easier with Keswick and Derwentwater just 4 miles to the east, a drive through St Johns in the Vale allows access to Grasmere, Ambleside and Windermere and to the west following the A66 is the Eden Valley.
The Keswick to Threlkeld railway path is a delightful way to visit Keswick with an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants without the need to take the car. Also, on the Coast to Coast cycle route cyclists can regularly be seen exploring the village.
With 2 village pubs serving delicious meals, you can enjoy eating out whilst sampling some local ales. The village hall has a coffee shop with views to Clough Head and the Helvellyn range.
Keswick Golf Club is within walking distance and the village also has a cricket ground for those who enjoy their sport whilst vacating.
