The Hayloft Broughton Beck has been converted from a 200 year old Cumbrian Bank barn to provide a home from home base to enjoy your holiday. Exposed stone work and original beams add character to the cottages which are furnished and equipped to an extremely high standard with eco friendly modern day appliances. The Stable has 1 bedroom and sleeps 2 and is all ground floor accommodation whilst the 2 bedroom, The Hayloft, is laid out over the upper ground and first floor and sleeps 4 people plus 1 infant. The cottages can be rented together to sleep a total of 6 people. A warm welcome awaits from the owners who are happy to advise on walks and activities in the area.
The cottage is heated by oil central heating and comprises: Ground floor porch with bench seating and space for coats and boots. Master double bedroom with king size bed and feature stone wall, a step down leads to a dressing room/nursery with access to the en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC. Twin bedroom which can convert to a super king bed or a single room (please advise at the time of booking). Shower room with hand basin and WC.
The open plan first floor is full of character with original beams and exposed stone wall. The living room has comfy seating around the TV, selection of books and games and dining table. The kitchen area is equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge with icebox, dishwasher and microwave.
All electric, oil, bed linen and towels provided. Cot, highchair and stairgate available. Private parking for 1 car.
Broughton Beck is nestled on the edge of the beautiful Lake District National Park, which is renowned for its stunning landscapes and outdoor recreational opportunities and 2.5 miles from Ulverston. A perfect destination for those seeking a tranquil setting away from the crowds of the Lake District but within a short distance of the lakes, mountains and the stunning Morecambe Bay.
Broughton Beck is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The area is characterized by rolling hills, lush green valleys, and serene woodlands. It's an excellent place for hiking and cycling, with numerous trails from the doorstep, that offer awe-inspiring views from the fell tops to the countryside, Coniston Water and the Irish Sea in the distance. Windermere and the Duddon Valley are both within easy reach offering visitor attractions and outdoor pursuits. The area is also home to diverse wildlife, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts.
Away from the fells, Britain’s coastal path is within a short drive and offers spectacular views over Morecambe Bay and the Irish Sea, the sunsets have to be experienced. The quieter country roads are also perfect for cyclists exploring the surrounding countryside.
The town of Ulverston, known for its charming streets, traditional pubs and local markets is a short drive away and regularly hosts festivals and exhibitions.
