The Granary Ruthwaite is a traditional Lakeland cottage located in a quieter corner of the Lake District national park. For guests who want scenery and walks on their doorstep, an escape from city life and a place to relax and recharge their batteries then The Granary Ruthwaite is the perfect base from which to enjoy a holiday with friends and family. The cottage is warm and cosy, retains many original features and offers stunning views towards Skiddaw and the Uldale and Caldbeck fells from the patio doors in the lounge. The cottage has a secure garden perfect for children or dogs to play or relax on a summers evening with a glass of wine surrounded by nature at its best.

The cottage is gas centrally heated and comprises: A stable door leads to the kitchen/diner under a canopy of beams the well equipped kitchen has everything needed to rustle up a family feast including an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine and microwave. Linger at the dining table with your morning cuppa whilst you plan your day ahead. A hallway leads to a single bedroom and adjacent shower room with hand basin and WC. Take the 4 steps up to the light and airy living room with 2 sets of French doors, one frames the view of Skiddaw whilst the other looks out over the Uldale and Caldbeck Fells. Comfy seating is placed around the TV with DVD and CD player, or simply relax whilst watching the children playing securely in the garden.

An open plan stair case leads to the first floor with master double bedroom. The twin bedroom also has an additional sofa and TV, perfect for the children to relax away from the adults or to escape with a good book. Bathroom with hand basin and WC.

All gas, electric and bed linen provided (please note towels are not provided). Private parking for 1 car with space for an additional car approximately 40 yards away on the village green. Garden with patio furniture. Please note this property is not suitable for children under 4.

The hamlet of Ruthwaite is in the Caldbeck fells which offers miles of walking right from the door with some of the best panoramic views over the countryside to the Solway Coast, Bassenthwaite Lake and to majestic Skiddaw. Located close to Ireby guests are promised a peaceful relaxing break yet within a 20 minute drive you can be enjoying the hustle and bustle of the thriving market town of Keswick with shops, pubs and restaurants. Bassenthwaite Lake is 4 miles away and home to a variety of activities for young and old alike, the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park is a fun filled day out with the kids or try canoeing and paddleboarding on the lake, or simply enjoy a picnic whilst admiring the splendour of the scenery. The village of Ireby, known for its connections with John Peel, the famous huntsman, is 2 miles away with pub serving local ales and the village of Uldale, 3 miles has a pub and tea room/gallery.
