Jebel Kasr Thornthwaite Keswick is attached to the owners home within a stones throw from Thornthwaite Gallery and Tea Room. The dining table is positioned in the patio windows, enjoy the mountain views over your morning cuppa whilst planning your days adventure. Leave the car and head off on foot over the many bridal and foot paths from the door to Whinlatter Forest or along the lake shore. Within a short drive is Grasmere and Ambleside to sample traditional Lakeland villages and the western lakes of Crummock Water, Loweswater and Buttermere along with the Newlands Valley are easily reached to enjoy some of the Lake Districts most stunning scenery.
The cottage has night storage heating and comprises: Open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with comfy sofas around the Smart TV and gas fire. The kitchen is equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and microwave.
The first floor bedroom has a king size bed (which can be converted into twin beds on request) and en-suite shower room with hand basin and WC.
All gas, electric, bed linen and towels provided. Private parking for 1 car. Shared use of the garden with garden bench to the front of the cottage.
Thornthwaite has it all, mountain walks from the door, Basenthwaite Lake a short walk away for water based adventures and picturesque scenery at every turn. The village itself is set against the backdrop of the lake, offering breathtaking views that captivate visitors from the moment they arrive. Bassenthwaite Lake serves as a focal point for holidaymakers, providing a tranquil setting for various water activities along with nearby Derwentwater. Whether you prefer a leisurely boat ride, kayaking along the peaceful shores, or simply strolling along the water's edge, the lake offers a serene escape for those seeking relaxation. Adrenaline junkies enjoy exploring the challenging mountain bike trails in Whinlatter Forest only 3.5 miles away. Both Braithwaite and the Newlands Valley are a short drive as is the popular market town of Keswick is 4 miles with a variety of shops, bars, restaurants and attractions. For those who prefer to leave the car there is a good bus service, the Stagecoach X5 will take you to Keswick and beyond.
